What do you think will happen to Baton Rouge now that we're supposed to have doubled in size in a matter of a few days?

Well, from the stories I've heard so far, Downtown isn't desirable in any sense of the word...so we'll have to see once that smooths over

Well hopefully that's just a minor setback.
Hopefully this will spur the city parish to expedite the way we deal with Adjudicated Property / Abandonded Property in the parish.

I dont think doubled population is long-term. Many people evacuated here will either move to the Northshore, northern Louisiana, and Texas. Also, ppl like me who live here and go to LSU will move if it gets too crowded.

Right. Initially, there was lots of talk amongst the LSU student community of transferring schools (mostly because of safety issues). I think that's died down now that LSU seems like it's actually going to resume quasi-normal operation on Tuesday.
I'm just not looking forward to this hectic semester. Hopefully the instructors/profs will be somewhat merciful.
We'll see how it works out. If it doesn't, then FEMA can gladly have my lease and I'll move to Lafayette. I like it there. Time will tell. Baton Rouge sucked before all this, but the tiny bit of optimist left in me wants to think that this change will be for the better.
